Focus on the 3M's
MCA has hosted four of a series of ongoing Project Management Symposiums. These symposiums focus on creating cross-functional as well as cross-cultural peer groups comprised of participants from progressive companies in the Electrical Contracting industry. The series has taken risk and resource management into consideration. Throughout this series project managers and other project team members share their experiences, the short comings and the best practices.
The latest session, held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was focused on planning and managing jobsite material. Previous sessions have focused on overall project risk identification and mitigation, manpower management, and project cash management
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania :: Material
October 23rd & 24th, 2006
The Symposium on Material brought out indepth discussions covering many key issues with regard to jobsite material planning, logistics management, vendor relationships and onsite material handling. The quality of these discussions was simply phenomenal; every participant brought something to the session and every participant took something home that they could begin using immediately to improve their own project performance.
We here at MCA want to thank all participants for their contributions and are looking forward to the next Symposium, which will cover the progress of the implementation of improved practices for managing the 3M's (manpower, money and material).

"I just want to thank you and your team for setting up the session that we had this week. We were able to come up with a lot of good ideas that we now have to adapt to make them part of our culture."
"I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Symposium ... The discussion really brought out some areas that we are not putting enough emphasis on ... I am looking forward to the next Symposium!"
